From glinda:

In 1960 I married a Coast Guard Officer in flight training.  Almost 49 years later and 3 children and several moves around the country including Kodiak, Alaska, we are still together and living in the New Orleans area.  When all my children were in school I persued a lifelong dream of seriously studying art.  It took many years but I am finally a professional artist and enjoying every minute of it.  My website is www.glindaschafer.com.  Looking forward to seeing old friends from PHS.

Being so far away for so long would be hard to condense that story.  For the past 27 years my husband and I have owned Gustavs (see webb pg.).  A  restaurant in a Bavarian Village in the Cascade Mt. range.  We leave it in good hands in the winter and spend nov. to may golfing and playing tennis (I play tennis). in the Calif. desert.

While growing up I attended a total of 22 schools never staying longer than l  yr in most.  Fortunately my father stayed at Elyson  Field for nearly four years as the base accountant so all of you mean more than you know to me.  I missed you terribly in my Sr. yr but finally fit myself into my Seattle school and life went on.  I thrilled to return for our 50th and grateful to those of you who have worked so hard on this reunion.  Thank you.  Pam

From Norma Jean:

After graduating from PHS, I was hired by Mutual Federal to work at their Town & Country office.  Later, I worked at their Warrington office as Branch Manager and then transferred to the downtown Main Office.  In 1965, I met Bob Schneider, who was working as a Regional Biologist for The Florida State Board of Health in Pensacola.  When he accepted a job with the Federal Government in 1967, we married and moved to Athens, Georgia.  His work area covered all the southeastern states and involved a lot of travel.  I was able to travel with him and enjoyed that much more than the idea of staying home in Athens and working.  In 1971, Bob became a part of a new National Water

Pollution Enforcement Program located in Denver, Colorado.  We moved and bought our first house together in Lakewood, a western suburb of Denver.  In 1972, our daughter, Lisa, was born.  Lisa and I followed Bob all over the U.S., until her schooling became the primary focus.  Bob was able to take an “early-out” in 1986 and we’ve really enjoyed retirement.  In 1997, he began working for the Colorado Rockies baseball team on a seasonal basis and did that for 10 years, retiring in 2007.  Our daughter and son-in-law are both teachers at the same high school here in Lakewood.  We have 2 adorable grandchildren, a 2-year old boy and a 6-month old little girl.  We stay very busy being a part of their lives.  My primary hobby is reading and I’ve added Scrapbooking recently.

Because of medical commitments, we will not be able to attend the reunion but look forward to hearing about it.

From Jo:

Hello, Everyone!  Moving from our beloved deep Southern roots has been the biggest surprise of my life, and I found it tough going to adjust to this culture in Yakima, Washington. Finally, one day I simply made up my mine that this where God planted us and I may as well just get on  with it. We have two grown children and four grandchildren, one as yet unborn and expected in mid-May.

I worked for the Florida State Health Department in Pensacola and Tallahassee and, later, the Florida State Legislature as a legal assistant. In time, I became a paralegal for firms in Tallahasse, Clearwater, and Orlando.

Since moving to Yakima, however, I enjoyed my "mommy track" and became heavily involved in various church and community activities, including teaching religious education and writing classes. For almost ten years I served as a legislative lobbyist through PTA and just loved it.

When my children were in high school, I went back to work, this time as an investigative reporter and feature writer for the Yakima Herald-Republic and, several years later, the Catholic diocesan newspaper. Journalism allowed me to meet many interesting people and research fascinating stories.

Today, both George and I are retired and enjoying our various projects and activities--he, model railroading; I, dollhouses, among other things. Together we completed a Victorian for our granddaughters' Christmas. About two years ago, I began to make altar linens, including doing white-on-white embroidery design work. I continue to teach, this time adult Bible studies at St. Paul Cathedral; I researched and wrote two as yet unpublished commentaries on Genesis and Exodus.

I really wish I could return to Pensacola for our 50th Class Reunion, but we'll be in Virginia during May to help our our daughter's family with their third baby. Nonetheless, I'll be thinking of y'all!

After PHS graduation I attended PJC and University of Alabama. Married a Naval Aviator and had 3 sons.
Husband passed away in '86 while we were in Nashville and I remained there for 7 more years working for a cardio-vascular surgeon.
I remarried in '94 to another Pensacolian, Izzy Shever and together we have 6 children and 9 grandchildren. Izzy retired from his federal job in DC in 2000 and we chose Gainesville as our home.
Looking forward to seeing everyone back home in Pensacola in May.
