City: Pensacola State/Prov.: FL Occupation: Orthodontic Assistant / Artist Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Kaye :
Bill Peters, a Marine Lt. From New Jersey, and I were married in 1960. We have two children., Skip is a Capt. with Southwest Airlines and DeAnn is a Computer Specialist. We have two grandchildren. Bill's career in the USMC took us to the West Coast, El Toro and the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, Ca. The USMC not being content with families being in one place very long moved us to the East Coast. Cherry Point, N.C., Beaufort, S.C., with two stops in Washington, D.C. . While Bill served three tours in Vietnam, I returned to Pensacola to be near family and friends. While a Marine Wife I help raise our children, took art classes, played bridge and volunteered as a Red Cross Dental Assistant. Bill's retirement from the USMC brought us home where Bill taught 20 years at Pace High School while I worked as an Orthodontic Assistant. I am still on call when needed. I have been a member of Toast Masters and art clubs. I paint flowers, beach scenes, and Children's Portraits. I paint Pens. Beach as I remember it, white sand dunes, sea oats, and the blue/green waters of the Gulf. Not the Beach as it is today with Condos, Hotels and the many homes. Bill and I are members of the Order of the Eastern Star. While I served as a state officer 2007-2008, we visited Chapters in Al., Ga., Ms., La., D.C., Hawaii and Fl.. I have written introduction and speeches for other members and have had articles published in the state news letter. The Star has given us friendships and the opportunity to work for charities that it and the Mason's support. Prints of a Pensacola beach scene I painted are being sold internationally to benefit one of the Star's projects. I will miss the reunion, Bill is a Florida Representative of Eastern Star to the District of Columbia we will be in the D.C. area at the time of the reunion. I enjoyed reading the web page. I wish everyone good health and continued success. |
