g City: Collierville State/Prov.: TN Occupation: Museum Director Website: biblical-museum.org Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Nancy: I've been searching for a photo from the 30th reunion. (I'll put it in the album) Finally found it and will say how wonderful it was to see everyone then and am looking forward to the upcoming reunion. Joyce Ann Sharp and I rode down together for the big 30th.. We found each other while both were living in Bowling Green,KY. I recently saw her in Salisbury, NC and she's planning on coming again. Jamie Gingles and I have stayed in touch through the years. She was in my wedding in Tampa and I in hers. I was also in Doothy Ward's. I attended Florida Christian College and married Don Bassett in December 1960. I worked at the University of South Florida , taking classes on the side, while he finished school. Don went into the ministry and as a consequence, we have lived in California, Kentucky, Ohio and Tennessee. We have two grown children and now six grandchildren. We both feel we have been richly blessed A few years ago, Don was encouraged to move to the Memphis area and start the Biblical Resource Center & Museum and retire from full time service in the pulpit. Since I have a museum background (I went back to school and also served as a museum director for a state historic site in Franklin, TN) I agreed to help in the project. I am still there! We live in an old home close to the historic square in Collierville, TN which is just outside Memphis. It is hot delta country and there are no near beaches! We travel quite a bit as Don conducts study tours to the Holy Land. In fact we excavated in Israel a few years ago. Nearly killed me! We would both like to slow down but have several projects we hope to accomplish. I hope each of you has enjoyed your path in life as I have. It's not always been perfect, and I doubt that any of ours has- but I think we experienced a rare time in our country when our days at high school were innocent, fun and productive. |

City: Cumming State/Prov.: GA Occupation: Retired Marital Status: Married No. of Children: 2 From Marsha: Many of us who graduated in 1959 stayed connected through our years at PJC. After that, I went to Ole Miss where I not only survived the riots and shootings, but also my classes. Not knowing what to do after graduation, I luckily fell into a teaching job at Escambia High School. It was a short “career," though. I met my husband in August at a preschool party for the single teachers. Jim and I were married that same November (1963), and I left Escambia after only one semester.
While Jim was in the military, we lived in Brunswick GA, moved around California from Santa Ana to San Diego and then Tustin. Our final stop was in Brunswick GA (for the second time) after he returned from Vietnam.
After leaving the military, our next stop was a long one: 25 years in Green Bay WI (my husband's home - yes, I married a Yankee!) I did some substitute teaching, but my primary job was raising my two sons, Robert & Mark.
In 1989, Jim was “temporarily” transferred to Atlanta GA to write a class for IBM. We were supposed to be here for 18 months; but Jim retired and we have now been here for almost 20 years!
With my children grown and on their own, in 1990 I went to work fulltime at Turner Broadcasting System/CNN in Atlanta as an Executive Assistant to a corporate vice president and president of Turner International. I was soon promoted to Manager of International Affiliate Relations and managed a department of one...ME! It was my dream job and an exciting job, but it disappeared when Ted Turner sold the company and the International Department was transferred to London. After that, I taught Microsoft software classes for an affiliate of IBM Education until IBM folded the company into its larger Education Department. My last “job” was taking care of my Mother and Dad…the best job of all!!! As for my children:
Robert is my IT guru. He and Beth live 10 mins. from us
in Cumming GA. Mark is my Wine and Spirits guru. He and Tammara live in Green Bay WI. We’ve been blessed with grandchildren. Mark & Tammara have two sons and Robert & Beth have a daughter.
But, Wait!! My 3rd grandson was born to Mark & Tammara in April 2009
But, Wait!! My 4th and 5th grandsons (twins) were born to Robert & Beth in May 2009
It was a disappointment to me that I wasn’t able to make the Reunion, but the babies' “due dates” were just too close. So, I’m really looking forward to the videos and pictures from the Reunion. Thanks to all of you who, unlike me, put your Bios on the website earlier. I’ve really enjoyed reconnecting with many of you and reading about what you’ve been doing.
Hopefully, the “Cruise Reunion” will take place next year and I can be there. (I think my children are finished with their families!)
My thanks to all of those who have participated in making the Reunion and the website such a wonderful experience. The hours and hours they have contributed to this project is an amazing gift to us and is much appreciated. THANKS!
