Bean Flyfishing School, I enjoy countless adventures - from Sydney to Vietnam to San Diego to Washington DC - with the Marine Corps, Ford Aerospace, McDonnell Douglas, Booze Allen, the Department of Veterans' Affairs, and a few random employers who are best forgotten. Jamie and I have walked on Alaskan glaciers, had dinner in the Eiffel Tower, absorbed the colors of Provence, lunched in the White House, celebrated New Year's on the Equator, met "Old George" in the Galapagos Islands, driven England from top to bottom, rubbed elbows with Nantucket egos, explored the castles near Brest, climbed mountains under the beautiful New Mexico sky, marveled at Mont Saint Michel, attended theater in New York, Montreal, Hollywood, London, Washington, consumed more than our share of Maine lobster, and we're preparing for a Med cruise. I still color outside the lines, find humor in most things, enjoy poking holes in Washington's bureaucracy, read voraciously, and cherish lasting friendships. We had three children: Jack, Jill & Jennifer. Big Jack died following an E.R.C.P. (gall bladder test) in 1993. We miss him terribly. When Jack died, we had only two grandchildren. Now, there are eleven. I taught school for 30 years. Jack was a pastor, a counselor and directed Pensacola Boys' Base (a program for boys in trouble) for the last seventeen years of his life. Two buildings have been named in his honor - one at the Lakeview Center & the other at Boys' Base. He was also the founding pastor of Charity Chapel in Pensacola. God Bless Each of You. - Jackie |
